Blogging from Bangkok

And all too suddenly, I’m in another country.

I just finished my whirlwind trip to Palawan and Ilocos with my fellow lakwatsero teachers, and now, here I am. I’m in a hostel somewhere near Khao San Road, and I’m typing this atop a bunk bed in the female dormitory.

Just before we checked in, we were walking around Soi Rambuttri and I felt like I was in tiangge heaven! I gravitated toward vintage pants and skirts with tribal prints and those pretty earrings — I suddenly wish I had not brought a week’s worth of clothes because I could just buy them here! I had to restrain myself from spending my first few hundred bahts because I have a feeling I could get even better deals somewhere else.

Joey, Vince and I are still getting our bearings as it’s been pretty overwhelming. I’m excited to explore in a while, though; we’re just waiting for the weather to cool  down. 🙂
