Fashion Fridays for Teachers

I’m going to do something I’m not used to doing, ever, and that is to fashion-blog. This is done mostly for posterity’s sake, but if you think it can help you rethink your teacher-clothes, then that’s awesome!

See, my teaching partner Edison and I like our semi-formal Fridays so much that during our coffee break every Friday morning, we take a few minutes to Instagram* our Friday attires. He has dubbed it “School Couture.” Personally I find that looking nice on the surface could influence my mood the whole day, thus the total overhaul in my wardrobe a year ago. My fashionable students have also been inspirational in this respect. 🙂

So, without further ado…some pics on our Fashion Fridays:

Knit argyle sweater (“Ferdie” was in the air) and elastic ankle pants
Same outfit, but with a striped hoodie. Doesn’t he pose for photoshoots so well? 😀
Forever 21 red blazer and lace tank top; Giordano cropped pants (from the, ahem, ukay-ukay); Lower East Side shoes from Payless (changed from more waterproof brogues)
Another sweater and pants ensemble 😀
Levi’s denim blazer (from the thrift store again — P50, just saying), Bayo white top, Forever 21 skirt (who’s the F21 fan?) and Hush Puppies boots

And here’s where I realize than I have poor sartorial vocabulary — I had to Google for the terms “argyle,” “brogues,” and “elastic ankle pants.” More practice, perhaps.

*Hasn’t “Instagram” become a verb yet? No? Oops. This is why my boyfriend has derided me for being a descriptive grammarian…

  1. I love how you seem to never run out of things to talk about. My blog is now gathering dust and molds unfortunately. Checked out yours, btw, because a friend linked to me your post about dating a teacher. =)

I’m also leaving a comment because I think I know your colleague. We graduated from the same university (and college). He’s a year ahead of me. 😀 That said, I’m also n English teacher which frustrates me as a blogger, because as such I should never run out of things to write about… I think.

It’s nice meeting you here. 🙂 More power!

    1. Thank you so much for your kind comments! 🙂 I do run out of things to write about (that’s why I haven’t posted anything in a couple of weeks) and as for the supposedly regular features (like Poetry Wednesdays), I am too swamped by test papers to remember that I need to post something. I know you know the feeling! 😀
